A Bird's Nest

Even Mother Nature knows how good Alpaca fleece is!

Welcome to Summerwind Farm. We are a small family farm owned and operated by wife and husband team Andrea and Louis Phyrillas. Here at Summerwind Farm Alpacas, Inc. we are dedicated to breeding alpacas of superior fiber quality, conformation, and gentle disposition in a variety of colors and countries of origin, to promoting the development of a viable domestic alpaca textile industry, and to supporting all who share in our vision of the lifestyle the alpaca industry has to offer for the American small farmer.

Traditionally, it has been very difficult for small acreage farmers to produce any significant income from their land. But what if we could identify a farm product that could produce a meaningful income on a small acreage, was environmentally friendly, and provided a natural product with markets around the world? What if the farm product was so valuable that it would be possible to treat the animals fairly and humanely? We believe that alpacas can do all that. Alpacas produce a fiber superior to any other and recognized as a luxury in textile factories world wide. The American alpaca herd, though small, represents some of the finest alpacas in the world. The alpaca offers a truly unique opportunity for the small farmer to revitalize rural life in America!

Interested in becoming an alpaca farmer? We would love the opportunity to help you start your venture in the alpaca business and we would like to invite you to come visit us at Summerwind Farm Alpacas! Or are you interested in alpaca end products or the fiber arts? Please call or email us to schedule your farm tour. In the meantime, take a virtual tour of our farm, meet our herd and see what they've been up to, browse our farm store, and have a little fun while you're here!
